Colorectal Cancer - 73-year-old male

History
The patient is a 73-year-old male with a history of colon cancer and colon resection April 2000.

CT Findings
Suspicious for recurrent colon cancer near the anastomotic site. Regional metastatic lymph nodes and distant metastases to the lungs.

PET Findings
Whole body PET imaging demonstrates multiple areas of increased activity within pulmonary nodules consistent with diffuse metastatic disease throughout both lungs. There was also bilateral hilar and mediastinal activity consistent with lymphadenopathy. Within the abdomen, there is peri aortic activity within lymphadenopathy. The liver, however appears normal on this exam. Within the pelvis, there is a mild focal activity near the anastomosis, which may represent local recurrence of neoplasm. This is also described on the CT scan. There was physiologic uptake in the kidneys and bladder. Bilateral axillary activity is also apparent.
