Urinary Tract Cancer Case 01

Clinical History
A patient with a history of renal cell carcinoma underwent surgery and presented for a restaging PET/CT scan for further evaluation.

Imaging Findings
NUCLEAR MEDICINE PET/CT
STATED REASON FOR REQUEST: Restaging renal cell carcinoma

PET/CT FINDINGS: The PET/CT scan showed glucose avid metastatic para-aortic lymph node that was only slightly enlarged on CT. No other metastatic sites were visualized.

Discussion
The single lymph node metastasis visualized on the follow-up PET/CT scan was retrospectively, only slightly enlarged on the CT portion of the scan. The PET/CT scan findings dramatically altered the patient's therapy and prognosis.
